Shout, scream and rage
it's easier for you than turning a page
It's been this way for an age
for a long, long age.

And once you're done,
I'll be here to turn lights off one by one
Ready to shut off the sun
for it to wake up again tomorrow, oh blessed tomorrow.

I don't see why you want all this pain
It's almost like you have something to gain
from the anger and frustrated emotions saying
"I wish you'd hurt, I wish you'd hurt."

The city shines its bright and amazing lights
down on this moment, this fight or flight
and when things get darker, I just might
fly away to the next page.

Every rose has its thorns,
I'm sure that every heart's been torn,
If you just look at these people, worn
I'm sure you'd notice quickly.

Don't spend your time on hate,
it is a much more valuable currency than that.
It will buy so much more happiness if you
simply believe it can.

It, would be time.

Don't spend your time on hate, spend being referred to in the next line
it is a much more valuable currency than that. talking about time as currency, as money to be used and spent
It will buy so much more happiness if you It throughout this stanza is time.
simply believe it can.

Here's my suggestion...If you'd just look at these people, worn I'm sure you'd notice quickly. This also reconciles the cadence of the last line to your formula.

That does sound a lot better. Mind if I edit?
