I’m sorry for being who I am. I am sorry that you think that I think that every person who supports Kerry is a hippy, tree loving communist. I’m sorry that you need to insult me to get your point across. I’m sorry that things aren’t working out for you, and I’m sorry that you are using me as a personal let off point, so that you can try and destroy my semblance of political thought.

I want you to know that I don’t hate you. I’ve never hated you. Why do you hate me?

I’ve never been against blacks. I don’t want any votes to be suppressed. I like clean water and air as much as everyone else. I also want every child to have a chance to live. I want small business to prosper and create jobs, and I don’t want high taxes.

I’m sorry you hate me for that. I don’t think it’s fair to me when you say that all Republicans are “big-business swine war-mongers”. I know I don’t like war. But I support our troops. Please don’t hate me for standing by our armed forces when our men and women in the field need us now more than ever. I’m doing what I think is right. I’m sorry if you hate me for it.

I know that if everyone was equal, we wouldn’t have to have welfare. I also know that a rich man makes more jobs than a man who refuses to get a job. Why should that rich man get punished for doing well, for working hard and spending his money in a responsible way? He didn’t blow off his life.

I know that I’m just an average joe. I don’t stereotype you. Why are doing that to me?

Just because I support George Bush in his run for the presidency doesn’t mean I hate Kerry, or that I hate you. It means I think he’ll do what I want better.

If you hate me for that, I’m sorry. I’m sorry that the world can’t be perfect for you, or for me.

Please accept my apology for being conservative. But I’m still rooting for Bush.

Joe Republican

This is very nice, Beebles.

I think in general we all want much of the same things. Most of us are fiercely patriotic and love America very much. We want our country to be a safe place to live, free from terrorism and crime and hate. We want to be inspired by the hard work and ingenuity of our fellow Americans. We want opportunity extended to all. We want to ease the pain of those who suffer and care for those who are in need.

How those ideas are turned into reality is really where the difference lies. We become so bitterly divided over politics and religion that it sometimes feels as though our country has been painted with a brush heavy with hate and arrogance and malice. Politics are ugly.

That's why articles like this one, Beebles, are so refreshing. You've wiped away that thick, oppressive layer of politics and allowed a bit of light and sincerity and understanding shine through. Great post.

I really liked where your article is coming from. While I was reading it, I felt very compassionate and kindly, even though I disagreed with the thoughts that you had.

It's good, it's something agreable even when we disagree.

Chalk up another insightful. I don't know why anyone would hate you for that, I know I certainly don't. I'm not trying to make everything you write about me, me, me, but I think I have something to do with this, with the comments we left back and forth to each other a couple nights ago.

I think this political season has honestly brought the worst out of many people. I can't wait until it's over. Maybe then everyone can love each other again. (<--no sarcasm there, we need a lot more love)

I agree with him, I don't hate you for who you are voting for. I don't hate you for what you believe in and what you think is right. Everybody is intitle to their opinion as well as you and me. I don't how you dress or what you look like you are my friend and the best anybody could ask for. As for me well I need to to a little work on talkin to much but hey thats me and nobody can change who you are besides you. Be yourself express how you feel and what you think is right. I fully support you wanting Bush for president. I think Bush has done a great job so I think you can vote right. Well vote Buh since you said you liked him and vote for the other people who like him b.c of right know i can't vote. So your vote will make a difference.

Hey I don't know about anyone ells but I hate all Bush supporters equally. For the Republicans with no sense of humor that was a joke and don't hate you at all just disagree

Very well written, bebbles. The only thing I would like to respond to is the fact that many republicans state that although they dont support the war, they support the troops. Well, I dont support the war, support the Troops, AND am voting for Kerry (I do consider myself liberal minded). Being a liberal does not mean you don't support the troops. We have a military base here, and there is VERY strong support for the Military. However, many will vote for Kerry because of how the war is going, and because all of the losses we have suffered in a battle that doesnt seem to be going anywhere.

When I first read that, I was like... "Oh geez!"

Well, first off, the name is Beebles. I'm guessing a bebble is something you put in the bottom of a fish tank

But, thank you for the response. I like to hear that people who don't support the war do support our troops.
