But some things never change
Published on December 8, 2006 By Death_By_Beebles In Poetry
Leaves fall, float by,
reds and oranges, greens
to wear a fresh new coat
of bright white
in coming days

Seasons change
from green to orange
people change
from warm to cold
places, times, lives
change
to icy wastes and frozen plains

the leaves change
always ready to fall, ready to die
and leave us behind
ready for winter
coldness, ice

And I, I wish for the summer
wish for the sunshine
wish for green
wish for life

Leaves change,
Minds change
Clothes change,
And heating bills change,
but some things
never do change.

Lovely,  thank you.

So timely...in this season of change for me

Hmm, it's good. In fact, as Trudy said...lovely. Might be a tad late though...for the leaves have already left the building. Got our first snow down here yesterday.

Leaves, while a centerpiece of this poem, aren't exactly what this poem's about my good friend.

EDIT: Hooray for snow!

*psh* I know that. I can pick up on layers of meaning, dear Alex.
